“When they came to kill the Zed, it was a nice day.”
First line in Mister Impossible by Maggie Stiefvater

It’s time for another seasonal TBR through Top Ten Tuesday hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. We’ve hit fall, my least favorite season, so I need some books to distract me while we trudge through the next couple of months. I managed to read all the books from my summer TBR so I don’t have any carry-overs. It allowed me to eye the list of books I said I wanted to read this year because I’m kind of running out of months. But anyway, here are the books I plan on reading in the fall.
- With Fate Conspire (The Onyx Court #4) by Marie Brennan
- The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde
- There Will Come a Darkness (The Age of Darkness #1) by Katy Rose Pool
- The Bone Ship’s Wake (The Tide Child #3) by RJ Barker
- Piranesi by Susanna Clarke
- The King of Crows (The Diviners #4) by Libba Bray
- An Enchantment of Ravens by Margaret Rogerson
- The Mad Ship (Liveship Traders #2) by Robin Hobb

I’m very excited about this selection, especially The Bone Ship’s Wake because I desperately need to know how that series ends. The King of Crows also feels like a book I should have read a year ago, but I’m a bit nervous about it actually. Still, if all goes well, I should finish at least three series this season which feels great. Let me know if you’ve read any of these and what you look forward to reading this fall.

Great list! The King of Crows is on my autumn TBR, too, so I hope we both enjoy it. I need to get to the Liveship Traders trilogy!

I see Piranesi on so many TBR lists. I have to get to it. I loved Jonathan Strange and Mr.Norell.

I’m too intimidated by Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell, so Piranesi is my first book by her, but I still think I’m going to love it!

I’ve never been able to finish The Picture of Dorian Grey. Maybe I should try again this autumn? I’ve heard the ending is wonderful. 🙂

I’m also a little afraid of Dorian Gray but I do really want to try it 😊

So many exciting books!! I’ll be waiting on your opinion on The King of Crows – I’ve heard so many mixed things that I’ve been putting off reading past Lair of Dreams 😅 But who knows, maybe you’ll give me the final push I need! Although I’ll probably try to catch up regarding Robin Hobb first 😉
And Piranesi is on my list of hopefuls as well 😊 I think just about everyone whose reading tastes I generally trust has loved it, which is definitely not a bad sign.
I also hope you’ll enjoy Dorian Gray! Despite it having one of the most boring chapters I’ve read in my entire life, the rest of it is really good, so I would definitely recommend it 🤗 And as long as you don’t go into An Enchantment of Ravens expecting Sorcery of Thorns, I can actually see you liking it a lot more than I did. It does have those wonderful woodsy fairytale vibes…

I’m skeptical of The King of Crows, but now I just want to be done with that series. And I can only approve of you prioritizing Hobb 😄
I have no idea what to expect of Piranesi but it just sounds like my kind of thing.
And now I’m really curious whether I can identify the world’s most boring chapter 😄 You’ve also warned me about An Enchantment of Ravens so my expectations aren’t sky-high, but after Onyx Court I’ve been wanting to try more fae stories that aren’t too cliché. I’ve always avoided them because they all seem so romance-focused but I’m trusting Rogerson to do something else with it as well.

Enjoy your reading! Other than DORIAN GREY, I haven’t heard of any of these. I hope they’re winners for you.
Happy TTT!

Piranesi has been on my ‘get to this someday’ list for years…I guess I should try to, you know, actually get to it? 😆

It’s funny how putting books on such a list doesn’t actually mean that we’ll read them 😄 I hope you get to it sometime and love it!

A great list! I hope you enjoy them all when you get the chance to read them.
I’ve been curious about Dorian Gray for a few years, but I always feel intimidated by classics.
